One Of A Kind Paperclay

DOTY NOMINEE FOR 1999!
AWARD CERTIFICATE IS WITH HER

Lauren was sculpted, in clay, by Joke Grobben. She won "The Doty Award" for 1999 as the "Industry's Choice" in the "Artist's One-Of-A-Kind" category. She comes with the award certificate, along with her certificate of authenticity, and is also signed by Joke. It is difficult to explain how pretty she is in person and how beautiful her clothes are. She wears a blue silk dress and a white pinafore that is sheer, but has a tiny floral white on white raised pattern. The pinafore also has two little pockets with embroidered flower on then. She wears adorable little white leather boots that lace up. She stands and has full sculpted legs. She is perfect!

"Nichole"
One Of A Kind Papaerclay Nichole, 27" high, was entirely made by Joke Grobben. She is a one-of-a-kind, sculpted in paper paper clay, and is signed by Joke and comes with her certificate of authenticity. She is also signed on her abdomen by Joke and initialed on the back of her neck.. She stands 26" high, has brown human hair and blue eyes. She has a soft body and a wire armature, as all of Joke's originals; so, she can stand, sit, and be posed. She wears a beautiful ivory silk dress with a sheer silk overdress with lace and pink silk ribbons. She was made in 1995 but has
never been owned by anyone other than myself. I have kept her in a box for most of the time that I have had her. I do not handle my dolls very often. Normally, I leave them just as the artist had them.
I did not realize how pretty Nichole was until I removed her from her box
a short while ago.

"Lenike"
One Of A Kind Paperclay

This perfect little girl doll was made entirely by Joke Grobben, from paperclay, and is 21" in length. She has a soft stuffed body and a wire armature. She has blonde human hair that is tied in pigtails with pink ribbons. She has German blown glass eyes. Her little outfit is a one piece suite made of white cotton, with antique lace and has beautiful detailing in the front. It snaps in the back and also ties with a pink ribbon. Her matching bonnet is made of the same as the outfit. She has a cotton jersey suite underneath that is also decorated with pink ribbons and crisscrossed in the front. She can only be posed as shown and cannot sit. She is also signed and comes with her certificate, as all of Joke's dolls do. This is an adorable original doll that will appreciate in value.

"Lakshmi"
One Of A Kind Paperclay

Isn't she gorgeous!! Entirely handmade by Joke Grobben; she stands 28" high! She has beautiful black hair and dark brown eyes. She is wearing one of Joke's traditional dress, made of yellow silk, with little embroidered flowers, with a white pinafore over it. Since all of Joke's dolls have matching bloomers, so does she. Her white leather shoes and white knit stocks.
She was reproduced by Goetz 2003 in vinyl and looks
very different.

"Aya"
One Of A Kind Paperclay

She has black human hair, brown blown glass eyes, and comes with a little leather purse. She wears matching leather sandals. Her legs are full paperclay. Her dress is cotton with lots of colors and braiding. She is signed by Joke and has her certificate.

She is 26" high.

"Mahendra"
One Of A Kind Paperclay

Mahendra is one of the earlier dolls that I purchased from Joke.
He is a "one of a kind in the world." He was created by Joke and is signed and initialed. He has a black human hair wig and brown
German blown glass eyes. He represents a little boy from
Indonesia; but, is pretty enough to be a girl! His teeth are wonderfully
done by and his face has all of the enduring characteristics of Joke's
work.
As all of Joke's one of a kinds; he has a soft stuffed body, with a wire
armature. His arms and lets can be posed. He can sit or stand, with the help of a doll stand.
He is like new today!! Never owned and been packed away safely
for years.

"Mei Mei"
One Of A Kind Paperclay

She is a One-Of-A-Kind doll, sculpted entirely by Joke Grobben in clay. She has black human hair and brown German blown glass eyes. She is 26" tall and has a soft body and wire armature. She can be posed to sit or stand. She comes with her certificate and is signed by Joke. She wears a white silk kimono with gold braided cording and gold leather sandals. One of my favorite Grobben faces. As one of my customers said, "She should have a lotus blossom in her hair!"
Couldn't find one, so I used the carnation.

"Marsha"

Marcha is a One-Of-A-Kind in the world, paperclay by Joke Grobben. She stands only 20" high and has the face of an angel. She has black human hair and dark brown German blown glass eyes. She has a soft body and a wire armature and can be posed to sit or stand. Her dress is made of peach silk and she has matching underpants. A white, sheer silk pinafore, decorated with peach ribbons and pleated, is absolutely gorgeous over her dress. She is signed by Joke and has her certificate of authenticity.

"Michelle"
One Of A Kind Paperclay

She is sculpted in clay, by Joke Grobben. She stands about 21" tall, has blonde human hair, and blue German blown glass eyes. Her mouth and teeth are beautifully sculpted and very realistic looking. Her dress is made from a silk multi-colored stripe fabric which is also used as a bow on her hat. Her coat is one of Joke's favorite patterns and is designed in pale pink wool and lined in silk. Her shoes are white leather shoes with buckles. Her socks are sheer white cotton with white lace. Michelle is singed on her abdomen by Joke, and also has her certificate.|
This has always been my favorite "original" by Joke.

Wendy has blonde human hair and brown German blown glass eyes.
She wears a "new" pink dress accessorized with ribbons and a thin veil of lace. The bottom of the dress is scalloped.. She wears white hose and white leather shoes. She can be posed to sit or stand, and comes with her certificate of authenticity and is signed on the abdomen by Joke Grobben
